Kief or kak - that is the question!

Everything in life can be only one of two things: kief or kak.

What is kief and what is kak?

Kief is a term that originated in the East (of Johannesburg) meaning something is nice, ayoba, satisfactory, etc. Kief is like cool, but with chrome mags and dash fur.

We chose the word kief because it's kief.

Kak on the other hand (figuratively speaking of course) is an Afrikaans word meaning crap, shit, excrement, etc. Kak is like... like... Julias Malema.

We chose kak because it's such a kief word.

Kief things and kak things are all around us. We encounter them every day. My new cellphone is kief. Traffic to work this morning was kak. My holiday next week is going to be kief. Vuvuzelas are kak.

Some things start out kief and become kak. Like bellbottom jeans. Or the word ayoba. Or my job.

The aim of this blog is to highlight certain instances of kiefness and kakness, and in some cases vote whether something is kief or kak.

It's going to be so kief!

Noot vir noot

Since this has been going on for longer than I can remember, it must surely be kief? Although... my heart tells me it's kak. I'm so conflicted on this one!
One thing is for sure though: That spazz in the band who plays the drums is definitely kak!
